Who makes GetMap

Hi, I'm Nik — the cartographer on the small team behind GetMap.

We trained in cartography and have made maps professionally for more than ten years. That experience decides what this service cares about most: where the data comes from, whether the numbers are grouped honestly, why one projection fits a map better than another. When those things are wrong, it doesn't matter how good the map looks.

We also work in 3D art. That is the other half of GetMap: light, colour, composition. A map is a picture as much as it is data, and it should be worth looking at — not just correct.

The two crafts meet in the technical details we fuss over: terrain shading, label placement, contour lines. The kind of decisions nobody notices when they are right.

If a map here looks wrong to you — in its facts or its looks — we want to know. Every map page has a feedback widget, and we read everything that comes through it.
